Party card games
Make your own party card game, and play it on your phones
Write a deck of dares, questions or prompts for your crowd. At the party everyone joins on their phone, and on your turn you draw a card and read it out. Nothing to print, nothing to buy.
Free to make and host. Players join on their phones, no app.
Mia does their best catwalk strut across the room (loser takes a sip).
How a game works
Write the deck
Each card is one line: a dare, a question, a rule. Add a {player} token and it's swapped for a random player's name when the card is drawn.
Everyone joins
Players open pardytime.app on their phones and enter the PIN. The host plays too. Once you start, the group is set.
Draw, read, pass
On your turn you draw a card and read it to the room, then tap Next to pass it on. The game ends when the deck runs out.
What you get
Cards that name names
Write "{player} has to sing the chorus" and the game picks who. Use the token twice for cards about two people.
Your crowd, your rules
No scoring and no judging. Write the stakes into the cards, whether that's a sip, a forfeit or a story.
Turns that keep moving
The screen shows whose turn it is, and someone who has dropped off the game gets skipped automatically.
Or play someone else's deck
Host any public deck from the library for free. With Plus, copy one and add your own in-jokes instead of writing fifty cards from scratch.
Where it works best
Pre-drinks and house parties
A deck of dares and confessions written for your friends, not a boxed game written for everyone.
Party games to play on your phoneBirthdays
A deck of prompts about the birthday person gets everyone telling the stories you actually want to hear.
Birthday person questionsIcebreakers
Gentle questions for a team offsite or a first night away, where the point is talking rather than winning.
Questions people ask
- How do I make my own party card game?
- Create a free account, choose Cards, and write one dare, question or prompt per card. Press Host, everyone joins with the PIN on their phone, and players take turns drawing a card and reading it out.
- Can a card mention another player?
- Yes. Put {player} in the card text and it's replaced with a random player's name when the card is drawn. A card can use it more than once.
- Is there scoring?
- No. Cards is a turn-taking party game with no points or judging. If you want stakes, write them into the cards themselves.
- Do players need to download an app or sign up?
- No. Players join in the phone's browser with the game PIN and pick a name. Only the host needs a free account, to save and run games.
- Is it free?
- Yes. Making games and hosting them is free, with up to 15 players in a game. Plus raises that to 100 players for $5.99 a month or $24.99 a year, and adds private games and unlimited uploads.
