This page lists every cookie and browser-storage item PardyTime uses, what it does, and how long it lives. Nothing optional is stored or loaded until you ask for it, and we show no ads.
Cookies
| Name | Purpose | Lifetime | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
pt_session | Keeps you signed in. Stores a reference to your session; the cookie is HttpOnly, so scripts on the page cannot read it, and in production it is only ever sent over HTTPS. | 30 days from sign-in | Strictly necessary (first-party) |
pt_oauth | Set only while you are signing in with Google, and deleted as soon as you return. It holds the one-time values that prove the sign-in you complete is the one you started. | 10 minutes | Strictly necessary (first-party) |
NEXT_LOCALE | Set only when you choose a language, to remember it. Until then we follow your browser's language setting and store nothing. | 1 year | Preference |
__stripe_mid, __stripe_sid | Set by Stripe, our payment provider, only once you open the payment form to subscribe. Stripe uses them to prevent fraud. | 1 year and 30 minutes | Strictly necessary (Stripe) |
Local and session storage
| Key | Purpose | Type |
|---|---|---|
pardytime:guest-id | A random ID made in your browser when you join a game without an account, so the game recognises you across reloads. Not linked to any identity unless you sign in. | Strictly necessary |
pardytime:guest-avatar | The avatar you picked when joining as a guest. | Preference |
pardytime:join-profile | The name and avatar you last joined a game with, so the next join is filled in for you. | Preference |
pardytime:join-session | The last game you joined, so you can get back in after closing the tab. | Strictly necessary |
pardytime:live-join (session storage) | Marks that this tab is in a live game, so a reload puts you straight back in. Gone when the tab closes. | Strictly necessary |
pardytime:host-settings-v2 | Your game settings as a host, used as the next game's defaults. | Preference |
pardytime:pixel-guide-seen | Remembers that the Pixelated editor has shown you how the game works, so it doesn't open by itself again. | Preference |
theme | Your light or dark choice, set when you change it. | Preference |
changelog:seen | The newest changelog entry you have seen, set on the changelog page. | Preference |
plausible_ignore | Set when you switch off visit counting below (and on our own devices when staff open the admin pages), so Plausible skips this browser. | Preference |
pardytime-cookies-notice | Remembers that you have seen the cookies notice. | Preference |
Advertising
PardyTime does not show ads. We set no advertising cookies and load no ad or cross-site tracking scripts.
Analytics
Neither of the services below stores anything on your device, and we run no session replay or heatmaps.
- Plausible counts site traffic: the pages viewed, where visitors came from, and their browser, device type and country. It uses no cookies or storage. Your browser sends each page view to our own server, which passes it to Plausible with your IP address and browser's user agent; Plausible uses those only to tell visitors apart within a day and does not store them. You can switch it off for this browser below.
- Mixpanel records what signed-in accounts do in PardyTime, such as games made and played and upgrades, sent from our servers, never from your browser. You can turn it off under Settings, Preferences. The privacy policy lists exactly what it receives.
Loaded only when you ask
These come from other companies, so they load only after you act, and their own cookies and privacy policies apply from then on:
- Stripe, when you open the payment form or go to a Stripe checkout page.
- YouTube (youtube-nocookie.com), when you tap Play on a video clue.
- Cloudflare Turnstile, the check against automated sign-ups, on the sign-in page.
Consent
Under the EU ePrivacy Directive, storing or reading information on your device generally requires prior consent, except where the storage is strictly necessary to deliver a service you have requested, or where it merely remembers a preference you actively set. Everything above falls into those categories, and our analytics store nothing on your device, so we ask for no consent and show no consent banner. See the privacy policy for how we use personal data and the providers involved.
Clearing storage
You can clear all of the above at any time from your browser's site data settings. Doing so will sign you out and reset your preferences.
